Yasmin's Snowdon Challenge 2016

Yasmin, Snowdon Challenge 2016 · 30 July 2016
On Saturday 30th July 2016, I will be making my way to Snowdonia with #TeamSKT to climb the stunning Mount Snowdon! It is the first time I'll be doing a Mountain Trek and that too for charity, so please support me!
The charity I have chosen to fundraise for is SKT Welfare (charity no. 1153735) who have been at the forefront, providing humanitarian aid to Syrians and Syrian refugees. They operate a 100% donation policy and your donation will be going towards SKT's Springs of Hope Family Centre in Turkey, which houses and supports Syrian widows and orphans.
In 2015 SKT Welfare went on a journey to bring back some hope
for these children, scarred and traumatised by the war. They started
building a Family Centre in Reyhanli, Turkey. Alhamdullilah the
completed Centre houses widows, orphans and single-parent families. The 7 Storey building comprises of self contained lodging for mothers and children, a canteen, prayer facility and a play room. It has room for 68 mothers and 194 children.
The unrest has left little opportunities for education and healthcare infrastructure. The main aim of this fundraising is to continue to support and run the Centre, providing food, clothing and education, something we all take for granted. Creating employment and training opportunities will provide some hope and independence In'sha'Allah.
This could be the start of making those small dreams become a big reality. Let's sacrifice some of our wants for their needs.
