I met the staff at Carney's community when I was part of a south london gang 8 years ago. At the time i was getting into trouble with the police and other gangs from different areas. Carney's community gave me the opportunity to start boxing which led to me spending less time on the streets and more time getting involved in boxing and other sports such as football. Since I have been involved with Carney's community I have gone on to graduate from university where I studied Sports Management and Football Studies and I now play semi professional football and coach football young people who want to play football at the highest level they can get to as well as young people who are at risk of joining gangs or getting into trouble with the police. Through Carney's community I also offer one to one mentoring and deliver work shops on Gang life & crime, Knife crime and robbery. I am raising money so that Carney's community can continue to help other young people like they helped me.
