We support indigenous and forest people to protect their rainforest home.

Story

After years spent in organising other people challenges, I have now decided that it's my turn to do something a bit extraordinary for a cause I really believe in....Saving the rainforest by working with those who know the forest best – indigenous peoples and traditional forest dwellers.

So here I am, training every morning at 6.30am to get fit and ready in time for the Yogathon 2012: 108 sun salutations in over 2 hours! Not an easy task for someone who hasn't done any sport for the past 10... Let’s say 15 years.

I have been working for the Rainforest Foundation for almost 5 years and I can truly say that the work we do is really unique. We are not pretending to find the solution; we are helping the people who know best to find THEIR solution.

Indigenous communities have often served as ‘protectors’ of rainforests, and their traditional cultures and traditions are deeply entwined with the forest.  Yet most forest dependent communities (especially in the Congo Basin) still lack any legal rights over lands on which they live.

The Rainforest Foundation UK aims to change this: we strive to help bring about meaningful, long lasting and locally implementable solutions to prevent deforestation by giving a voice to Indigenous Communities and Forest People.

You know I am a bit of a dreamer, who still believes in changing the World...if you too believe in make things better, please support this cause, because I can tell you now your generous donation will go a long way!

From £1 to £100...every little help will make a big difference.

Thank you so much!!!
