EVENT DATE IS: March 2009. (not February as shown above)

Please note that on 2nd April 2009, I reduced my 'Fundraising target' to £35,000.00. This is due to the 'Justgiving page being closed in two weeks time, allowing last minute sponsors to make their contributions, with a view to reaching a target. Thank you

So Far

In April 2005, I completed the 20 Marathon Des Sables (MDS) and in doing so managed to raise in excess of £11,500.00 for charity.

I took this one step further and completed the event for a second time in 2007. This time I managed to raise just under £27,000.00 for ‘The National Society for Epilepsy’.

My biggest incentive for both events was the impressive amount contributed, which would not been possible without the support I had from friends, family, work colleagues and sponsors. 'The Marathon Des Sables’ is regarded as one of the toughest Footraces on earth’ http://www.saharamarathon.co.uk/

WHAT NEXT:   'The 6633 Arctic Ultra   ' Yukon'

'The Coldest Extreme Ultra Marathon on the Planet'

This is part of the route detailed below:

In March 2009, at the age of 51, through vigorous and committed training, I am willing to pit my fitness and mental stamina against a more dangerous and hazardous foe.

A 360 mile non-stop, unsupported footrace across the Arctic (equivalent to 14 marathons). Covering the line of the Arctic Circle traversing the length of one of ’s northern most regions...in the dead of winter. (See following link) http://www.6633ultra.com/

Competitors will be expected to complete the distance in under 8 days and are required to carry or pull on sleds all their provisions for the race including food, cooking items, clothing, sleeping kit and other safety gear (approx 75lbs). Tempreatures in 2007 dropped to between  -40C and  -65C.

Athletes always need to be prepared for surprises like overflow (water on the surface of the ice), breaking through thin ice, horrible snow storms and unexpected wildlife encounters.

A directors daily race report for the Yukon is detailed below. This will give you an insight on the extreme difficulties I can expect to encounter along the way.

How Can you Help

I am hoping to raise funds for ‘The National Society for Epilepsy’ and have set an ambitious target of £40,000.00 (almost nothings impossible). With your help it is possible to reach this goal.

Contributions can be as little as £2.00 and can be 'Gift Aided', this means a that the the government add 25% to all contributions.

Every penny helps, so please dig deep and help me to help others.

If you phoned a vote through The ‘X’ factor,I’m a celebrity get me out of here or even strictly come dancing, then please consider sacrificing just a little more?  .

*** A special thank you to Vic Ware OBE and all his friends and family for their outstanding and tenacious efforts in giving so much support for my 2007 Marathon Des Sables. 'My heart has been touched by the 'Acorn Planter'.
