Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
Jon Hospice Day Care, in Lusaka, is a project which offers care and support to orphans and vulnerable children living with HIV/AIDS. With limited resources it looks after around 170 children and aims to give medical care, nutrition advice, counseling, basic education and recreation facilities.
And the recreation facilities is right where we come in! All children love to play. Every one of us knows how good it feels to fly down the slide in the park, to swing so high that you feel like you’ve touched the sky or to get giddy from spinning on the roundabout. The playground is what being a child is all about. And that’s what we are going to give to the children in Lusaka – a playground. Our project for the first three days of the trip will be to give the Day Centre a playground. And perhaps paint a mural on the playground wall if we have enough time. And, if anyone participating in the trek would like to, be involved in play therapy and music therapy sessions with the children.
I am so excited to be involved in this project. Demelza have supported me with my younger daughter, Jennifer and support 10% of the children at Glyne Gap special school, where I work, so I know first hand the diference the Demelza team make. Oh and Jenna is a nurse with the Demelza-James outreach team!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Demelza, Hospice Care for Children will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now and PLEASE say YES to gift aid!
Many thanks for your support.
Yvonne and Jenna x x x PS when I set this page up I wasn't going but I obviously am now! Thanks Jenna x
