Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
In April 2016 Ziggie trained as a Community First Responder for South Central Ambulance Service. CFR's, as we are know, respond to life-threatening medical emergencies ahead of arrival of an Emergency Ambulance. A Nationwide scheme, CFR's have proven to be a great asset to Ambulance Services.
To be able to do the job properly, CFR's carry a kit, including Oxygen, Breather Masks and a Defibrillator, among other things. A lot of the kit is costly an donly usable on a single-patient basis. It therefore needs to be replenished frequently. Although run by SCAS, the CFR scheme is funded where possible by charitable donations and therefore we have to keep on our toes in terms of fundraising ideas!
So a group of us have decided to take part in the Three Peaks Challenge, scaling Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell Pike over a 24 hour period! This is no easy feat, but we're a pretty determined group - and its worth it!
We have funded ourselves individually to cover all necessary costs but the aim is of course to raise funds to support the CFR scheme and afford more kits for more responders - and therefore attend more emergencies.
All donations will be hugely appreciated, no matter the size - every little helps right?!
