Story
Beads of Courage is an amazing programme that allows oncology children to collect beads for each of their procedures during their treatments, there are beads for everything from chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgery to blood tests. Hannah started collecting them in December 2011 and we have paid to backdate them back to initial diagnosis in January 2004, so you can imagine she has a pretty huge collection!
The Beads of Courage have had a massive impact with the children and even the teenage lads are joining in. The beads have helped the children to talk about their treatments and they've even been known to find ways to 'earn' new beads.
I am joining family and friends of lil Hannah (a fellow BMT patient from the Royal Marsden) and we are taking part in the Thames Path Challenge and walking 50k on 29th September to hopefully raise enough money to sponsor the Beads of Courage for the Royal Marsden for a whole year! So, please sponsor me and show your support for a cause that all the children and family love and enjoy, thank you x
