Sponsored Slim · 7 January 2014

The Christie charity provides enhanced services over and above what the NHS funds. Your support can help us to fund life-changing and potentially life-saving projects that will benefit cancer patients both now and in the future.

Story

In July 2013 we recieved a phone call to say that our beautiful 22 year old daughter Lois had collapsed in London and had been taken into the Neurological and Neurosurgical Hospital in London where they had to remove fluid from her brain. 5 days later came the blow that she had an Epenymoma Brain Tumor that would have to be removed. After a further 10 days we were told that the tumor was Grade 3 cancer, the most aggressive.

Lois was then transferred to The Christie Hospital's YOU and was treated with intense Radiotherapy. The next few weeks were a blur, but The Christie staff were incredible. Not only do they care about the patients, but they fully support their families. I cannot praise their dedication and expertise enough. On the 23rd December, Lois had the best result ever, the treatment has worked and the cancer has gone. As a family, we cannot thank the staff enough, it was the best Christmas present ever.

The Christie are building a new YOU department and need all the money they can get. so as a massive thank you for making Lois better, I have decided to do a sponsored slim for 10 weeks.

I intend to lose as many pounds as possible and would very much appreciate your donations to such a fantastic cause. If you donate through the just giving website, they will also benefit through gift aid.

Many thanks in advance

Zita
