Ali's Dream charity was set up by Alison Phelan's family and friends in order to raise money to fund research into discovering the causes, advancing treatments and finding cures for childhood brain tumours. Sadly this was spurred on by the loss of Alison at the beginning of June 2001.

Story

The "Day" Family (including Lucy the dog) are taking part in 'The Big Wight Matter' to raise money for Ali's Dream.  This involves two fifteen mile sponsored walks around the Isle of Wight and some shorter walks for little legs (Sam & Joe)!

Ali's Dream raises money to fund research into Childhood Brain Tumours

Brain tumours are now the biggest cancer killer of UK children

Please help us to make a difference and find a cure

Ali's Dream was launched in June 2001 following the loss of Alison Phelan three weeks before her eighth birthday. Horrified by the lack of funding for research and the prospect that it is unlikely that a cure will be found in the next five years, Alison's family and friends set up the charity with the objective of raising funds for research into childhood brain tumours.

      • Discovering the causes
      • Advancing treatments
      • Finding a cure

The trustees have established a paediatric focused scientific and medical advisory board and invite applications for funding via leaflet distribution at relevant conferences and contacting known research units. The charity will fund scientific, medical and patient / carer qualitative / quantitative research in pursuit of their objectives.
