Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page (sorry to ramble)
For those who don't know, I was diagnosed in 2004 with cervical cancer (CIN3) stage 3. (For those who remember Jade Goody died from stage 4 &##128554;). At the time I was advised that if I refused treatment I had 10 years to live, so yes technically I shouldn't be alive... with thanks to my amazing Macmillan nurses, Enfield chase and then UCLH all the cancer was removed and I've been cancer free since. But due to the aggressiveness of the cancer I had, I was advised that I'd never have children and that the possibility of freezing my eggs and conceiving by "alternative ways" could be something to consider in the future.
You may wonder how Gary and I have managed to product two amazing, beautiful, precious little boys? Well basically I had a operation before trying to conceive, in which I was given a fairly new key hole procedure (at the time) in which My cervix (or rather what was) was stitched together and then it was left to the gods to see - in April 2010 we returned to pembury hospital to discuss the options of having Private treatment, disappointed, exhausted but still full of hope we headed home.... Only to discover at the weekend we were pregnant! (Baby Samuel arrived in November 2010!) and overjoyed to discover we would be blessed again, in 2014 baby Kian was born. so now the time has come ....... To kick ass and pay it back!
Tracy Taylor and I are training to take on a massive challenge 5Kilometres 109 lengths each, of Pells Pool Lewes outside in September!! Totally nuts but we want to raise money for people living with or surviving this dreadful cancer... Every penny will go to Macmillan Cancer Support.
£203 it could pay for a Macmillan nurse for an entire day - helping people affected by cancer and their families. If you raised just £27 this could pay for a Macmillan nurse for an hour. You can make an incredible difference.
