Hello all!
I'm taking the plunge and running the Edinburgh marathon in May 2010. I'm sure you're all aware of the fantastic work that Clan do in Aberdeen and the surrounding areas and I'd like to raise as much money as possible for them and allow them to continue to provide support for those affected by cancer.
Statistics say that one in three of us will be directly affected by cancer, and it's likely that most people will know someone who has fought cancer. Sadly it's a fight that people don't always win. As well as running for Clan I'll be running in memory of my wonderful Gran who lost her battle with cancer 8 years ago, and my very brave mother in law Jane who sadly passed away just last year. Jane received huge support from Clan and the whole family is entirely grateful for everything they did for her.
All I'm asking is that you give what you can - anything is a help and will be very gratefully received. I'm only running 26.2 miles and that's a task that pales in comparison to the challenges people with cancer face every day.
I promise I'll finish the marathon - whatever it takes! I'll keep you all updated on my progress so stay tuned!
