Story
Grapevine is a charity in Coventry working with people of all ages with learning disabilities, helping them to grow their lives. (Zoe) - I have been lucky to have been volunteering with Grapevine for the past year, and have met some amazing people whilst there. I have a buddy called Jordan who is 16 years old and is in a wheelchair - he is really funny and bubbly but was born with Cerebal Palsy and therefore needs constant care and help in accessing the community. Together we go out and do things such as play pool, or we play the wii at his house, and once a fortnight I support him to attend the Grapevine meetings for young people where we all get together and plan activities, how we want to spend the money we are given, and learn new skills together.
Grapevine also do many different projects such as making plans for young people in transitional stages of their lives eg leaving school, and advoacy for those who may need a little support in speaking for themselves.
Grapevine do a fantastic job in the local community...but rely on donations and grants so therefore we are doing the fun run to raise some well needed funds so they can continue making such a difference to these peoples lives.
We are participating in the Coventry Fun Run on Sunday 27th May with Jordan, a 3 and a half mile circuit around Coventry (it might not seem a lot but pushing a wheelchair it's gonna be tough!) so please, please, if you could spare just a little money it would be much appreciated.
Thank you so much for sponsoring us, and helping a great cause!
