Story

Anyone that knows me knows that I couldn’t even run for a bus last year….. so running the London Marathon is a HUGE challenge. I literally started training from walking, and running 26.5 miles is going to be an incredibly difficult task.  I have been inspired to do this to raise money for a very small charity, run by the families of autistic children – Treating Autism.    This charity has helped my good friends Mark and Charlotte Peckham with their gorgeous daughter Agnes.  I have never had more respect for this family…. There is nothing their children could want for, and Agnes has full support and love every day from this incredible pair.  I’ve known Agnes since she was a baby, and feel there are so many similarities between myself and her – we have the same difficult dietary allergies for one, that I felt no one understood the effects of these until Charlotte and I started comparing notes.  I wish more kids today had parents like the Peckham’s; they are such an inspiration.  The best bit is that they continue constantly to strive for a better future for Agnes - nothing is too much to handle; everything is achievable.   I wanted to take on the marathon for a charity who I know helped the people I love, and a small organisation like this will appreciate every penny raised.

Thank you in advance for your donations!!

We aim to raise awareness of the medical issues commonly associated with autism. We believe many children and adults with autism are medically ill, and when their needs are properly assessed and appropriately treated, health, behaviour and quality of life can be improved.
