Hello! Helping children is something I have always been passionate about, from my future career choice, to my extra-curricular activities. To be over the other side of the world, physically helping underprivileged children, making a positive impact on children's lives is something I've never had the opportunity to do, until now.  Over the summer I have been given the amazing opportunity to travel to Thailand and spend 4 weeks working with children with disabilities in an orphanage. To do so, I need to raise £600 for the charity '4Life' which is the UK partnership of the Thai Charity CCD: ‘The Christian Care Foundation For Disabled Children’.  I will be paying for the expenses of the trip myself, so all the money you donate will go towards this deserving cause.  As a group we are hoping to raise £10,200 for the charity. The vision of the charity is: "to bring LIFE to the hundreds of disabled and abandoned children living in Thailand".  The Charity I will be volunteering with helps the children in 3 main ways: <span style="font-size: 11.0pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 13.0pt; font-family: Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font: major-latin; mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-theme-font: major-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: major-latin; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: major-latin; color: #151515;">  1. ‘Rainbow House’ which opened in March 2004, is a specialist residential home for up to fifty children. The CCD staff look after the children day and night, and are always available to give them the individual attention they need. The children here are given the opportunity to lead a more normal life with the excellent facilities and staff; with the eventual goal of reuniting children with their families or where that is not possible arranging adoptions either in Thailand or overseas.  2.  ‘CCD’ and 4 Life have created day care centre’s where children can go to be educated, stimulated looked after and loved. 3.  In the poorest provinces there are community-based rehabilitation centre’s providing support for families emotionally, financially and educationally. A UK Pound goes a far way in Thailand, and so every penny counts!
