Muscular Dystrophy UK is the charity bringing individuals, families and professionals together to beat muscle-wasting conditions.

Story

I have 3 wonderful children, Samuel aged 8 and twins,Josiah and Miriam aged 5.

Miriam has a very rare form of Muscular Dystrophy which is still not yet fully diagnosed. She has had several operations in her short life, but through it all she always smiles and never complains (even when she was in a full body cast for 2 months, in the heat wave during May/ June 2009 after major surgery!)

Miriam uses a power chair for getting around outside and a frame for inside. She has daily physio and has to endure a lot of discomfort and gets extremely tired just doing every day things other children take for grantage.

I am just an ordinary mum with an extraordinary daughter, who has decided to run the 26.2 miles (well when I say run I really mean jog!!) in the London 2010 marathon, for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign. I have not run for over 25 years, and even at school I preferred swimming!

Every pound will inspire me to run that bit further, so please dig deep and sponsor me now!!

Please help me to help the MD campaign, so together we can improve the lives of people with this muscle wasting disease.

Thank you xx
