Asics British 10K London Run 2011 · 10 July 2011 ·

Children and young people can be really motivated to join-in by using IT. AACT investigates ways that IT, especially mobile stuff like phones, video cameras and iPads, can help people of all ages who have a communications disability communicate with everyone.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I've set myself two formidable challenges.

The first is to run 10k. Why formidable? Well, I've never run anywhere before. Apart from the odd jog around the block (fooling myself into thinking I was keeping fit!), I haven't run since school days. And now I'm going to attempt to run 10km!

The second is to raise £1000 in the process. I appreciate this is a very ambitious target, so I am going to ask you all to please dig deep... Dig deep to feel the pain in my legs on the Sunday afterwards, but dig deeper to really help improve the lives of children and young people who have communications disabilities.

I am running for a small charity, AACT for Children, for which I am a trustee. Not content with attending board meetings, I wanted to do something bold and raise some serious money (for us).

But don't let me put you off with my ambitious target - every pound will help.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
