Story

Welcome to the Asphalt Arsonsists team-fundraising page. The team is: Nick Dawes, Ben Townsend, Ben Hurtley, Tom Mieszkowski. We will be attempting a 10,000 mile drive from Goodwood Racetrack (Chichester) to Mongolia (Ulaan Baatar) in the summer. All donations are helpful as we are aiming to raise a £1000 minimum for Mercycorps (explained below)

Some facts:

The Mongol Rally 2010!

The journey is 16,000 kilometres or 10,000 miles across mountain ranges and through deserts.

Leaving from Goodwood Race track in Chichester on July the 24th 2010 attempting to reach the capital of Mongolia (Ulaan Baatar)

The team will use a car with an engine size of 1000cc and will be less ten 10 years old.

The route could take from 3 to 6 weeks depending on what happens along the way! Upon arrival our car will be donated to a local charity and the team will return home by flight.

Our team of 4, Asphalt Arsonists, will be looking to raise a minimum of £1000 pounds for a charity in Mongolia named Mercy Corps.

The charity provides support for families and children in Mongolia.

“Mercy Corps exists to alleviate suffering, poverty and oppression by helping people build secure, productive and just communities”

How Sponsorship works:

The majority of the money raised will go towards Mercycorps, a smaller amount will cover Entry visas, Fuel, and a flight home. The team in return can offer an area for a business logo to be placed on the side of the car as a return for the kind donation of sponsorship money. This will be present from Goodwood racetrack from the start line, all the way until the finish in Mongolia!

As well as Advertising space on our team website which is run through the official Mongol rally website. We will also be posting updates on Twitter to stay on track throughout our adventure.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now!
