VSO volunteers work with people, sharing skills and knowledge so they can make changes to their own lives.

The photo on the left is a picture from Pakistan where I visited in 2006 to see volunteers who were working with teachers. Literacy and numeracy in Pakistan is the lowest in south Asia, and volunteers are helping to train teachers in more effective teaching methods, which ultimately makes learning more fun and rewarding for teachers and students.
