As some of you may be aware, I went to Bangladesh recently to work on a Human Rights programme with BRAC. For those of you who don't know, BRAC is one of the biggest NGO's in the world and has been providing a wide range of vital support and much needed help to some of the poorest and most destitute people in the world.  

I spent several weeks working with the Human Rights and Legal Services team working on numerous projects providing grass root legal support and advice to those who are too poor to access legal services.

Amongst some of its many projects, BRAC works with other organisations to assist and help rehabilitate victims of acid throwing attacks. Unfortunately, this is a common  occurrence in countries like Bangladesh. The acid leaves the victim with severe injuries and in the most severe cases leaves the victim blind.

BRAC provides ongoing support to these victims and works rigorously as an advocate for greater protection and support in this area by not only providing legal representation to the victims, but actively working with other organisations to implement more effective changes to the current legislative system in Bangladesh.

I've learnt a huge amount from my experiences in Bangladesh and have gained a good insight into the work that BRAC does . I am raising money for the projects that I have been working on especially in relation to the victims of acid attacks.
