We've teamed up with Student Brakeaway and are attempting to raise money for charity in two ways – charitable donations or sponsorship in exchange for an excellent promotional opportunity for your company.

What is the Student Brakeaway?

This event is similar to the 'Gumball Rally' in that it is a long distance drive from London to Medulin, Croatia. The Student Brakeaway, however, is an event aimed at bringing thousands of students together from all over Europe to promote good relations between countries and cultural awareness. The event is also used as a platform to raise money for charity. We will be driving to Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Slovenia and finally to Croatia in a total of 6 days. An in depth route can be

Why Sponsor Us?

The event is covered by a huge range of promoters/newspapers/TV stations. Locally, we will receive coverage from the Press and Journal in Aberdeen, the Turriff Advertiser and other local papers. Nationally, the video for last year’s event is currently being played on plasma screens in 92 Universities across the UK (including UoAberdeen), with 1.8 million students per week watching! Articles on the event have been published in the Guardian, The Student Times, The National Student and broadcast on Radio 1. In short, the event is hugely publicized and would provide an amazing promotional opportunity for your company.

Where Will the Money Go?

As well as providing you with an excellent opportunity to advertise your company, you can rest assured that any money donated will go to a good cause. The aim of the trip, as mentioned above, is to promote relations amongst different cultures and to raise money for charity. We are attempting to raise £2000 which will go to the Aberdeen Cyrenians, a charity helping the homeless and who are in desperate need of money after Aberdeen City Council cut their budget by £900,000.   They have already lost more than 30 staff and closed some residential facilities around Aberdeen.

There are currently 18,500 families in Aberdeen surviving on £50 per week or less!  The need is huge!
