Abi and I are heading off on a Mercy in Action Ladies Challenge in the Brecon Beacons this coming weekend 3-4 Oct. The challenge activities will include a whole day mountain walking followed by a waterfall walk the next day for Debs and the climbing wall for Abi.

We (Abi and Debs) will be visiting the Philippines on a Ladies team in January 2010 to spend some time with the lovely ABBA drop in centre kids. Yep, we're leaving the boys to fend for themselves for two weeks! This will be an amazing and rewarding experience for us both especially Abi, who's school (Two Mile Ash) has given fantastic support and encouragement.

The money we raise through the ladies challenge will be going towards taking the kids at the ABBA drop in centre on a retreat while we are there. All of the children helped through the drop in centre live rough around the central market place in Talisay City, some with their families and others totally alone, having run away from abuse or been abandoned.

Through the drop in centre they are given daily meals, a safe place to play, learn and have fun being 'normal' kids. Most importantly they are loved and cared for by the Mercy in Action family of staff and volunteers. I'm sure taking the kids away will be an amazing and rewarding experience.
