Story
Well folks. Its not long until 18th May when Andre and I do our big bike ride across the Pennines for Downs Syndrome. We aim to raise as much money as we can. Why have we chosen this particular charity? Well Andre's daughter, Abigail has Downs Syndrome and he wanted to do something for the charity that has supported them so much in the past and of course with him being such a good friend, I offered my help.
I guess you will all be wanting to know exactly what the trip entails, well, in a nut shell, we are mountainbiking from St. Bees on the west coast of England to Robin Hoods Bay on the east coast of England. A total of 240miles across the Coast to Coast route which will hopefully take us no longer than 5 days to complete. We will of course be lacking in all the home comforts as we are 'wild camping' which means our accommodation is a simple Bivvi Bag and Sleeping Bag. When the nights draw in it will be literally a case of bedding down on the side of a mountain or under the shelter of rocks with nothing but a gas stove and vaccum packed meals...yummy!
On the way we will be taking lots of photographs and will be doing a video diary of our challenge which will be uploaded online once the challenge is completed so you can see just how hard it will be for us.
