Story
It’s that time of year again… NOVEMBER… otherwise known as Nanovember! For those who don’t remember the shenanigans of last year, "National Novel Writing Month is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to novel writing. Participants begin writing November 1. The goal is to write a 175-page (50,000-word) novel by midnight, November 30." More here.
Last year I decided to take a wild leap of faith and attempt to write the story of two of my most beloved characters, Eric and Anthony and at the same time raise a little money for charity. The novel was... good in some bits and disastrous in others but it certainly kept you guys interested and together we raised over £500 for Barnardos.
So this year the deal is the same. I’m going to write another novel... which will be a sort of a sequel to last year’s novel, I Love Everything About You That Hurts, simply titled, Amped. The deal is the same as last year, I will publish as I go, unedited on a secondary blog... and you have to make a donation to this year’s cause in order to read it... no matter how big or small.
This year I’m writing for Plan UK, a child-centred community development organisation with no religious and political affiliations, enabling families and communities in the poorest countries to make lasting improvements to the lives of their children. I’m particularly keen on their “Because I am A Girl” campaign that focuses on tackling gender inequality around the world.
I am upping the ante this year and attempting to raise £1000 so I hope y’all are feeling generous... look at this face, can you say no? Once again I will be taking “conditional donations” so if you want me to include specific weird words or phrases... just let me know.
As a special treat, I'm allowin free access to last years novel blog so if you want to get an idea of what you’re in for, check out AbNoWriMo Mach I. If you want to donate to this year’s cause... and read this year’s debacle, donate now and you will receive the link, user name and password to access the site in an email.
