Thanks for taking the time to visit our fundraising page. This year from the 17th - 18th July two teams from ABP Southampton will be taking part in the gruelling 24 Peaks Challenge - with an aim to raise £10,000 for Seafarers UK.

The 24 Peaks Challenge is one of the most demanding mountain walking events devised as a charity challenge. It's a tough physical challenge set in a stunning location, the heart of the Lake District. The challenge is to walk up 24 peaks, each one over 2,400 feet, in 24 hours total walking time. Some of the route follows well-defined ridges, but the height climbed and descended throughout the challenge is significant. The route includes many of the more famous peaks such as Red Pike, Scafell Pike, Helvellyn and Great Gable.

We have two teams competing in the challenge:

Team A:

Tom Dynes (Operations & Security Manager)
Patrick Walters (Commercial Director)
Lex Bancroft (Town Quay Manager)
Liam Babey (Electronics Engineer)
John Hiscock (Port Engineer)

Support Driver:
William Heaps (Assistant Marine Advisor & Hydrographic Manager)

Team B:

Andy Owens (Operations & Security Manager)
Shane Keenan (Port Engineer)
Rob Chandler (Systems Analyst)
Will Jeffery (Senior Projects Engineer)

Support driver:
Carol-Ann Grant (VTSA)

Seafarers UK aims to unite the maritime charity sector to address the specific needs of seafarers and their families. Seafarers UK is able to use its experience of working with the Royal Navy, Merchant Navy and fishing fleets to raise money and distribute it where it is needed. As an umbrella Seafarers UK can lead the sector in maximising the effectiveness of its fundraising activities.
