ACE is a relatively new charity, funding is still very much hand to mouth. ACE have a desperate need to install rubber matting in all the stables - not only would this help greatly with the huge cost of sourcing and disposing of bedding, but would obviously be a great benefit to animals with respiratory conditions and open wounds. The rubber matting will also provide a more sterile and dust free environment for the inpatients. With 25 stables to floor at a cost of only £100 per stable, if every one chips in with whatever they can afford, it won't be long before the animals will feel the benefit.
We may look at an animal in distress and look away, sometimes it is hard to face up to suffering due to the poverty and ignorance of people, but just because we do not see things does not mean they are not happening.
