ACE, desperately needs isolation facilities, so that we can admit and seperate contagious cases from our other in-patients.

Following the outbreak of equine flu, as well as regular cases of strangles (strangles, like equine flu is a potentially fatal disease and highly contagious, affecting horses and donkeys).

Plus a number of outbreaks of highly contagious diseases amongst the kittens, cats, puppies and dogs.  We urgently need somewhere where we can admit these cases without risking the health and lives of our existing in-patients.

We aim to raise enough money to build an isolation block, with a minimum of 3 stables, atleast 4 seperate small animal housing facilities, a small area for treatment with running water to enable us to admit any and all kinds of contagious animals.

Other ways in which this facility could be used, is for severe cases of Tetanus, a disease which affects all too many donkeys and horses here in Egypt, and often we do not see these animals until they are so severe that we need to keep them in a darkened area with minimum noise as any stimulus can cause further distress to the animals and mean the condition takes a firmer hold.

After building the facilities, we can purchase the veterinary, and general sterilisable equipment needed to further reduce any infectious diseases spreading so that everything is seperate and can be kept well away from the other animals.…..

This will make a huge difference in protecting the lives of many young and week animals we have at the hospital.

PLEASE SUPPORT US …

In 2010, and 2011 we had a fantastic team of walkers who were literally "WALKING their HIND LEGS OFF, for THE DONKEY'S & animals of Egypt!  Specifically to raise funds for this purpose

for ACE - Animal Care in Egypt ...

Please support us……

Did you know:  A donkey travels on average at 10 kilometers per hour.  In Egypt they work all day, sometimes in excess of 10 hours a day.  This means they can be pulling heavy carts for over 100 kilometers nearly every day of the year!!

Come and try the distances yourself to get a feel what it must be like for them, and then imagine the Egyptian sun beating down on you as you walk, the donkey's do not have the water to hand that we will have either!

THE EVENT TAKES PLACE IN THE GOODWOOD AREA (North of Chichester, West Sussex) IN MAY each year - See our website for further details and specific dates each year and how to enter.

Or, please come along and cheer us along the way.... We will need lots of encouragement to keep our energy up, and legs moving!

-> Perhaps you could invite your friends round for dinner instead of going out, but ask them to donate the money they would have spent to this cause instead?

-> Perhaps instead of buying that bottle of wine or two for the weekend, donate the money to this cause instead?

THANK YOU to all our amazing offline donators also.
