Story

Welcome to our charity page for our walk from London Bridge, England to John O' Groats, Scotland!

ALL DONATIONS TO OUR WALK GO STRAIGHT TO THE WILLIAMS SYNDROME FOUNDATION!

The walk has been cancelled at present due to an ankle injury received during the first few days. We will attempt to reschedule this ASAP but due to work constraints this may not be possible. Thanks so much for the donations already received :)

Some info on us:

We have been friends for 10 years and have been living in each other's pockets since.

This is the first time either of us have done any kind of long endurance event, (apart from nights/weeks spent on the Xbox)

We get on like a house on fire, partly due to Adam's hair colour, and we hope this event will be the start of a yearly event for us to test our mental and physical capabilities.

This will be an amazing feat for Adam, his mum remembers well the time when Adam stated his desire in life was to be a 'beach bum' even though he hates the beach - he's that lazy!!!

For Callum it will be amazing, as he will have to take twice as many steps as Adam, The picture reveals all! (If you still don't get it, Callum is a fair bit shorter!)

We are two strapping(ish) lads planning to walk from London Bridge to the furthest point of Scotland (John O' Groats) for a charity that is close to our hearts.

We are doing this walk for a friend who has Williams Syndrome, Adam has known him for his entire life, and Callum, for ten years.

We feel we can make a difference even if only a small one.

A Definition of William's Syndrome:

'Williams Syndrome is a rare disorder. Like Down's Syndrome it is caused by an abnormality in chromosomes, and shows a wide variation in ability from person to person.

Williams People have a unique pattern of emotional, physical and mental strengths and weaknesses. It is a non-hereditary syndrome which occurs at random and can effect brain development in varying degrees, combined with some physical effects or physical problems. These range from lack of co-ordination, slight muscle weakness, possible heart defects and occasional kidney damage. Hypercalcaemia - a high calcium level - is often discovered in infancy, and normal development is generally delayed.'

Please do donate any amount you can afford, even in these tough times, as every penny DOES help, and will go a long way to helping those with William's Syndrome.

Thanks,

Adam & Callum

Team Rabies.
