Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
This year I have been given the chance to run the London Marathon on 13th April, and I will be representing The Mumbles Lifeboat crew.
The RNLI is a registered charity which I have a close personal connection with as I have been a crew member of The Mumbles Lifeboat since 2002. As a charity the RNLI is run entirely on contributions, and the large majority of the lifeboat crews are voluntary (me included). Outside of my RNLI involvement, I use the sea for various pursuits, including surfing and sailing, and to date I haven't had to call upon the RNLI, thankfully. However, it is comforting to know that throughout the year there is a fully trained and dedicated crew close-by and on call day and night.
Each crew member gives a huge amount of personal time to become trained to save lives at sea. The training required is to ensure that the crews, who risk their own lives, are able to go to sea and return as safely as possible. For that reason, I am running the London Marathon in order to help raise money for the 'Train One Save Many' campaign which is vital to turning volunteers into lifesavers.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Through this site the RNLI - Royal National Lifeboat Institution will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
