This year my chosen charity is The Prostate Cancer Charity. In recent years, the charity has invested £5m in vital medical research. The charity offers a specialist helpline staffed by specialist nurses, who receive roughly 14,000 calls per yeae. 150,000 publications were distributed by the charity in 2005/6.

Nearly 35,000 men in the UK are diagnosed with Prostate Cancer each year. 10,000 men in the UK die from the disease each year. A British man has 1 in 11 lifetime risk of developing the disease.
