My story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This year i'll be tackling the London Marathon in aid of Mountain Rescue England and Wales.
Mountain Rescue Teams in England and Wales are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, whatever the weather. Teams rely on charitable donations to fund their work and all team members are voluntary. As well as the 'bread and butter' work they do, rescuing lost or injured walkers and climbers, they are increasingly tasked to conduct other work including:
Conducting urban searches for vulnerable missing persons
Assisting the ambulance service during times of adverse weather where they can't get to a casualty
Rescuing motorists and residents stranded in the snow
Assisting at major incidents such as train or plane crashes, and during major floods
so if you thought you'd never need Mountain Rescue you may be mistaken . . . . . . . . .
To help raise awareness I will be running the marathon whilst carrying my Mountain Rescue back pack.

Mountain Rescue will provide assistance to anyone who becomes lost or injured in the mountains, rural or urban for whatever reason. The service is provided 24 hours per day 7 day per week and operates in all weather conditions. Mountain Rescue in the whole of the United Kingdom is free of charge.
