Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit this JustGiving page.
It is decdicated to Stuart Newbery who was a Husband to Julie and Dad to Oliver and Erin, a son to Ken and Beryl, my brother and an uncle, nephew, cousin and friend to so many people.
As many of you will know, my wonderful brother Stuart sadly passed away last May. He was a great character who was liked by many many people. The packed church for his memorial service was evidence of just how much he is and will be missed.
I have decided to run this years Virgin London Marathon for Stuart's memory. It seems appropriate as it will be a major test for me and I can do it for my brother as he didnt have the healthy lungs needed to be able to run.
Every single step will be for Stu but more than that, every single step will be for Oliver, Erin and Julie too. To help them cope with loosing their dad Oliver and Erin have been recieving specialist breavement counselling specifically for children who have lost loved ones. Nicky's Way of St Nicholas Hospice based over in Bury St Edmunds, have been there to assist the twins in dealing with life without their fantastic dad there with them.
It's not just the twins this brilliant service helps it's Julie too as she makes her way, faces life eachday with the ups and downs that brings. I know that they all find the work of Nicky's Way a great help.
St Nicholas Hospice support many many families at a difficult time with support in many ways and offer that help across the Suffolk and norfolk region.
So I decided to run my marathon and raise money for this service so that it can continue its work and provide much needed support for Julie, Oliver and Erin as well as other children and families who have lost loved ones.
The twins have already told their Nicky's Way counsellor their Uncle AJ is running the marathon so they can have toys to play with when they visit! How cool :)
Its a way we can help provide a legacy for Stuart and help his familiy at the same time. You can help too, come and cheer me on if you can get to London, but by making a pledge on this page you will ultimately do something amazing for Stuart.
Thank you for your time, maybe I will see you on the day (I will be crimson faced and at the back probably behind the comedy pantomime horse!)
Importantly if you can donate something then you wont just be helping me, Julie, Oliver and Erin your donation will also help all the other people who need assitstance and solace at a very difficult time allowing Nicky's Way to continue to do its brilliant work.
