CNYTrust's mission is to facilitate the advancement of education of children and young people in rural China, in particular by assisting in the provision and improvement of facilities and resources in schools and the provision of bursaries to the school's students. CNYTrust manages and funds its own school in Hebei, China providing funding, educational resources and management advice. As a non-profit organisation our work is heavily dependent on volunteers and donations. Trustees and volunteers work for CNYTrust in their spare time and are not paid, so every donation goes directly towards helping another student get to school. All donations received by CNYTrust are used either in our CNYTrust sponsor a child scholarship fund or put towards the maintenance or development of the CNYTrust school. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you in advance both on behalf of the Trustees and children who we are supporting for making a donation.

Story

In Beijing alone over 5MM migrant worker children face abject poverty, no government support and no chance for a future unless we help with access quality education.

Please support me in helping to solve this problem by making a donation to CNYTrust - a UK registered charity which supports teachers to provide an education to these children.

About the problem:

Behind the scenes fueling some of China's incredible growth in recent years are millions of migrant workers who flock to urban areas in search of work that others do not want to take. These migrant workers are often find jobs referred to as the “three Ds”: dirty, dangerous, or degrading. Inevitably, their children are the ones who pay the highest price. With no support network in the new city and parents working long hours every day, they are the “forgotten” children of China. As a result of China’s unique registration system (hukou), which ties each citizen to their place of birth, these children often end up on the fringes of society.

Key issues they face are a sub-par education, inadequate healthcare, unstable residence, intense poverty, poor hygienic conditions, and low self-esteem. Unlicensed schools are the only option for the majority of migrant children and many of these buildings are dilapidated, overcrowded, and lack clean drinking water and proper lavatories.

How CNYTrust helps:

CNYTrust has partnered with the number 1 teacher training university in Beijing to identify promising students from poor rural backgrounds and support them with annual bursaries. In return these scholars donate one afternoon a week to teach migrant school children and offer them quality education. CNYTrust currently has 20 scholars and hopes to expand this to over 100 scholars in the next year. Your donation will help us expand this program helping both migrant students and our scholars have a chance at a future they deserve.

Do your part to help:

100% of proceeds go towards sponsoring our teachers to provide an education to these migrant children - giving them a chance they deserve in this world.

Thank you for your support!

Read more about the migrant children problem at:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-pacific-14743222

http://www.mrn-china.org/site/index.php

Read about CNYTrust scholars:

https://sites.google.com/site/chinesenewyeartrustorg/Home/projects/scholarship-homepage/scholars/jiangman
