Thanks for visiting our fundraising page, please let me introduce us. We are a group of mates ranging from 44 years young to 16 years of age who all play for AFC Halifax, which is the supporters team from Halifax Town Football Club. We were formed in 2006 to play football matches against other teams supporters teams. We have played all over the country, with a decent amount of success, but always with a smile on our faces. We also try and raise some money each year for our chosen charity. Over the last 2 years we have raised in excess of £5000 for Cancer Research UK. This year our nominated charity is Macmillan Cancer Support.

On the 22nd June 2008 14 members of our squad will be running the Jane Tomlinson "Run for All" 10k in Leeds, decked out in the AFC Halifax full kit. This will be our second time at the event and if last year is anything to go by it will be a fantastic day out for runners and spectators alike, despite a few aching limbs. We are a close knit group who plan to run this together and cross the finish line as one. This is the reason that we have only done one just giving page rather than 14 individual ones. This will be a special day, as well as an emotional day for quite a few of the lads, as many of us have been affected by the trauma this terrible disease can bring. I am sure as you read this you will have been affected or know someone who has been affected by cancer.

This is the very least that 14 "fit" (ha ha) lads can do to help Macmillan Cancer Support improve the lives of people affected by cancer. So please can you whip out that credit or debit card and help us achieve or exceed our target of £2000.
