Oundle Africalink will be building a new school house for a local primary school in Pomene, southern Mozambique. Their present building is made of illegally harvested Mangrove poles and has no seats or basic teaching facilities.

Story

Thank you for visiting our Mozambique fundraising page! The Oundle AfricaLink Community Aid project is an extremely worthy cause which aids communities in Mozambique lacking in basic amenities such as sanitation and health services. In the previous 2008 trip to Mozambique, a clinic destroyed by Cyclone Favio was rebuilt and a hydroponic farm was established.

In our trip in the summer of 2010, a group of thirty Oundle students, having raised sufficient funds, will be aiming to build a bridge and walkway over a swamp to allow easier transport and access to the clinc; provide equipment and training for a women's sewing collective which will provide a source of income for local women by selling hand made items to tourists and provide a boat and equipment for a men's fishing collective.

Please be supportive of our group and help us to reach our target!

Thank you,

Andrea, Alice P, LJ, Smay, Alice G and Helena
