This will be my first marathon, so is arguably my biggest challenge to date.  However, it is nothing compared with what our wounded Servicemen and women have to cope with coming back from Afghanistan.  I served in the RAF for 16 years between 1977 and 1993, during which time we had the Falklands War and first Gulf War; I also spent 18 months working at the (then) RAF Hospital Ely, so do appreciate the current situation.  This is a golden opportunity for me to help today's Armed Forces.
