I am peddling my way to Paris on the 17th to 21st June 2009. The trip is over 300 miles that needs to be covered in 4 days. As you can see I’m all kitted out for the journey and have been training to cover the distance under my own steam, albeit with the help of a ferry to cross the channel!
Along the way I hope to raise some money for LionHeart and Macmillan Cancer, there is an explanation below about what the charities do.
LionHeart was founded by members of the RICS in 1899, the benevolent fund, exists to provide confidential advice, information, support, and in certain circumstances financial assistance to those who, for whatever reason, find themselves in difficulty. Past and present members of the RICS and their families are eligible for assistance. Frequently help is given is cases of ill-health, disability or unemployment, separation of families, difficulties in retirement.

Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer. One in three of us will get cancer. As treatments improve, more and more people are living with cancer in their daily lives. This means they need more than medical help, they also need practical, emotional and financial support.
Macmillan Cancer is a source of support, helping with all the things that people affected by cancer want and need. It's not only patients who live with cancer, so they also help carers, families and communities. They guide people through the system, support them every step of the way, fund nurses and other specialist health care professionals and build cancer care centres.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: LionHeart gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
