Last year I set myself the challenge of cycling from London to Paris (it seemed like a good idea at the time) to raise money for Barnardo's. The whole trip was an amazing experience and the sense of achievement when we finally arrived in Paris was incredible, especially knowing that it had helped raise over £1300 pounds for the charity. Thank s again to all those who sponsored me.
Shortly after I returned, the organisers sent details about a cycle from Paris to Geneva and being the reckless individual I am, I signed up for it. The trip is 340 miles long, to be completed in four days of cycling, with an eight mile climb up into the Jura Mountains on the last day. Hmm! I should have read the small print first. I absolutely hate hills.
Anyway, this year I have decided to raise money for the North Devon Hospice, who helped take great care of a friend, Sally Terrett, who sadly died shortly before my trip last year. Sally's husband, Chris, is also cycling to Geneva and judging by his fitness will probably get there first.
Whilst I am organising some events to help raise the money this year, I should also be very grateful for any donation as well - it really is a good cause and I really do have to work very hard to get fit enough to complete it. I've even had to cut down on my drinking (well the night before I do a long cycle, anyway)!
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: North Devon Hospice gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
