Story
Well the event is over! It really was an experience. Until you try riding the mountain stages back to back you don't really get an appreciation for what the tour riders are faced with. Met lots of lovely people and had a lot of fun interspersed with periods of significant discomfort. But all of us on the ride could stop the hurt by simply by getting off, not an option for the patients Macmillan's support. The web page will stay open for a couple of months for donations so if you wish to help me raise funds this way you can. When I've sorted out the pictures I took I'll try to put new ones on the site.
The event was between 17th and 21st Sept covering 315km (197 miles). The final daytook us over the “Col de Galibier” at 2646m (8681 ft) and finished in the climb of “Alp d’Huez”. In total we be climbed over 27,000 ft according to those with GPS systems.
