Michael Jackson Concert · 19 March 2009

Street Child Africa provides holistic support to vulnerable children and young people: preventing children growing up on the streets; meeting the needs of children living and working on the streets; and providing opportunities for children to access a positive future through education & training.

Story

Hi Friends,

I have been lucky enough to get a spare pair of tickets to the Michael Jackson Concert at 02 on 16th July 2009! They are really great seats on the Lower Tier in Block 110.

I have always been a fan of Michael Jackson, my family will testify to the fact that as a 6 year old, I would often part the curtains in the living room, and bust out all kinds of his moves. To be fair, not too much has changed...

No matter what people think about MJ, this is a great opportunity to give money to a worthy cause. The certain touch of irony (excuse the pun) with my selection of charity is not lost on me, but the less said about that the better! This is a wonderful chance to provide for people less fortunate than ourselves.

How this works:

I have never actually done any kind of Raffle before, but a £5 donation will effectively count for 1 ticket (so please give your name with your donation if you want to be part of the Raffle). I will then publish people's names with their corresponding numbers.

I will close donations and have a prize draw for the raffle in the first week of July. Due to the nature of the ticket distribution (for EVERYONE who has been given confirmation they have tickets), I will receive my tickets between 7-10 days before the night, so should physically be able to pass them on to the lucky winner then.

I focused my efforts on getting one of his early performances (his 5th show at the time, now his 2nd after the rescheduling of the first 4!!!) as I'm a bit sceptical that he will be able to do 50 shows! Even if he really does sleep in an oxygen pumped room, its a bit of a long shot. BUT there is obviously a small chance that he cancels the show.

I will keep everyone updated about the Michael Jackson lotto on my facebook  (possibly having a party on the day of the draw).

Thanks and please help as best as you can
