I was touched by the courage shown by some of the personnel at Headley Court, who despite their injuries, were keen to recover and return to the conflict zones again. I hoped I could help raise desperately needed funds so that individuals can benefit from the increased level of care at the centre. I intend to cycle from High Wycombe to Land’s End via the north of Peninsula, returning along the south back to High Wycombe, over a period of 3 weeks. Covering approximately 700 miles of unexplored territory, using camp sites for overnight stops. (Disability makes transporting my recumbent tricycle difficult, as this is my only means of transport.)

I sought the approval of my daughter, Kitty, who was completing her “Tour of Duty” in Kabul, Afghanistan – her reply, “I’ll come too.”

Hence we as a family unit hope to raise money for ‘Help for Heroes’. (Kitty will be using a conventional ATB to complete the ride).
