The plan is to join 50,000 others in the Great North Run and be in the top 20,000 - that might not seem much to you, but it's a big deal to me - i'm not at all a keen runner! in the photo on the left i'm the weedy one in white with sunglasses seeming to be heading in the wrong direction...

my preparations have all gone wrong recently as at the end of July i hit my head on the partially lowered shutters of a favourite cafe of mine (one of the literal pains of being over 6ft tall) and have been suffering from concussion for the best part of four weeks, and as a result done no running since then.

my plan now is simply to complete the course...
