Beds & N/ants MS Therapy Centre-Snowdonia MS Chall · 24 April 2009

The MS Therapy Centre provides therapy, information and support to people living with MS. Many professional therapies are offered - physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, pain management, together with complementary therapies. We do not receive statutory funding, so donations are vital.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Bedfordshire & Northamptonshire Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Over the weekend of the 3-5 July 2009 two teams, Bedford police officers and friends and Sandy & District Round Table, will undertake the MS Challenge in the Snowdonia National Park to raise funds for the Bedfordshire & Northamptonshire Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre, in Barkers Lane, Bedford.

The Challenge is a national event attracting teams from all over the country.  A team of between 8-12 persons are challenged to safely carry a wheelchair bound person with MS over a 7 mile rough terrain course in the Snowdonia National Park.  During the Challenge teams will traverse a dry ski slope, clamber over rocky outcrops, struggle through boggy woodland and cross rivers.  Throughout, the person with MS must remain in the wheelchair and must be kept safe and dry.

The MSTC is a registered charity, which attracts no central funding.  The Centre has been providing therapies and support for people with MS throughout Beds & N/ants for over 20 years.  The Centre currently supports over 700 people with MS, and their families, and is the only local purpose built facility offering these services.  All of the running costs, currently approximately £230,000.00 per year, have to be raised through sponsorship, or charitable donations.
