Hi everyone, LATEST UPDATE: LATEST UPDATE: MONDAY 14TH APRIL: I DID IT!!!! Yes I actually ran the London Marathon which as things go in life is pretty special. The whole experience was just fantastic and the crowds were awesome constantly cheering you on the whole way round. I passed the finish line in 5:37:44 which I was pleased about given my serious calf injury in February. My real challenge was to run and complete the race. I'm also delighted to have raised over £2000 for my Charity MIND as you can see above and there's still money due in from my sponsors so please keep contributing as every penny is going to help someone going through a tougher time than I did runnining the marathon for 26.2 miles. Donating through my site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Mind - The Mental Health Charity will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
It is a sad fact of life than 1 in 4 of us will suffer some form of mental illness in our lives. Your donation will definitely help someone through their difficult time - that's got to make us all feel good!
Many thanks for your fantastic support and particularly to all my family and friends who came to support me in London yesterday - can you beleive some of them now want to run the marathon!...little do they know eh? Alan.
