On the 1st September 2012 Alan lost his year long fight against mesothelioma, a very aggressive form of lung cancer, which was caused by contact with asbestos when he was just 15.

Alan spent the last 3 days of his life at the Hospice In The Weald where he was looked after with great care, dignity and sympathy. The hospice are a purely charitable organisation, and need over £5,000,000 per year to keep this wonderful centre running.
