UPDATE:

I made it, what a fantastic trip.  I am still in the process of collecting in money and my last few events.  This page will stay active for another few months, so if you thought I would not make it and did not sponsor me, then you still can :)

A big thank you to everyone that has supported me through this, I could not have done it without you.

Hi All,

Thanks for dropping by, the reason I choose to support Macmillan is because cancer is something that affects us all, I and my family have been affected, by losing my grand mother when I was very young to lung cancer and more recently my other grandfather to bowel cancer and my other grandmother to various complications, however it was Macmillan nurses who helped us with my nana towards the end.  There are many worthy charities out there, but Macmillan is special to me.

This is a very significant challenge for me, not only in the amount that I need to raise but also the challenge itself walking the Inca trail, which is at high altitude and very humid.
The hike itself totals 5 days through jungle and mountainous terrain, rough camping at night.
I have many great ideas to raise money, but I would also really appreciate any support that you guys can give to me too, so please sponsor me :)

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Macmillan Cancer Support will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Please pass this link to someone you think would like to help me out

Many thanks for your support.

 Alan

UPDATE on fundraising

I have so far held 2 charity cricket matches and raised over £100 from each.  I have held a 1 day music festival in Durham and this raised around £600, plus I have a CD for sale with a track from all of the bands that played that day that I hope to continue to raise money from this following the event.

Next up I think will be a curry night and a pub quiz, if anyone has any suggestions then let me know.  Thank you for your continuing support.
