Lands End to John O'Groats · 23 May 2007

When You Wish Upon a Star has a simple mission: to grant the Wishes of children living with a life threatening illness. Wishes have the power to transform the lives of children and families. Since 1990, we have proudly granted over 19,000 Wishes across the UK. We'd love you to be part of the magic!

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

This is the ultimate challenge or me to handcycle 924 miles in 17 days.

From the age of 11 I suffered from severe leg ulcers. In 1997 I had my left leg amputated and in 1998 I had my right leg amputated, due to MRSA & leg ulcers, since then I ave take on many challenges including The London Marathon, The Great North Run, hand-cycled 500km over Vietnam & Cambodia. Last year saw me take on my first Triathlon and I have completed over 20 10k and half marathons over the last 3 years.

Good health is something many people take for granted. At any age, long term and life threatening ill health is hard to come to terms with. In the case of a child and their family, there can simply be nothing more devastating. As a parent, I can’t imagine the pain, anguish and suffering that must take place but I can see the need to bring some smiles and magic into their lives.

I am asking you to help me make some special dreams to come true. Every penny does count and will make a difference. Quite simply, the more sponsorship I receive the more smiles we can help bring about. Please note – I am paying my own costs for this so every penny will go where it should – to the children.

Many thanks for your support.
