Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Im running in the Big Fun Run event in Perth on October 10th, in order to raise funds for the Neuroblastoma Society.
For those of you unaware of this condition, Neuroblastoma is an aggressive childhood cancer that affects about 120 children in the UK every year. For the children and their families it is devastating. The Society was formed in 1982 and registered as a charity in 1983 in order to raise funds for medical research into improving both diagnosis and treatment of the disease. They also provide the opportunity for parents to give each other mutual help, support and comfort. All donations made will help them fight the disease
Sadly this is a disease that has had a real impact on close friends of ours. My wife Claire's god daughter, Amy, died from the condition aged just 6, and as you can imagine it has had a profound effect on all of us.
Now normally Claire would be taking part in events such as these, and I'd be on the sidelines offering support, but being due to give birth in January, I thought it only right and honourable that I offered to take part on her behalf!!

Thanks very much, Alan
