Thank you to everyone who so kindly donated to last years charity event. We raised a huge amount of money and more importantly continued to raise awareness throughout the world on just how devastating this ASBESTOS RELATED disease is.

This years event takes place on 13th September along Scotlands Great Glen Way. It is 75 miles of wonderful scenery starting at Inverness up rugged hill down stony Glen all to be complete in 4 days. On the 5th day we arrive at Fort William, refreshed and early to bed in order to climb Ben Nevis on the 5th Day and complete ourt challenge.
There are 5 of us in the team Roly Lock, Steve Whitehorn, Mick Durban, Brian Thorpe and myself and we would welcome any support and donation, however small you can make to this truly worthy cause.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Mick Knighton Mesothelioma Research Fund. British Lung Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Asbestos Related Cancer, Mesothelioma is caused by exposure to asbestos, indeed one fibre can be enough to kill. At present there is no preventive treatment or cure. The death toll from this devastating cancer is rising at an alarming rate and now affects around 5,000 people each year in the UK. This figure will rise to 10,000 by the year 2020 unless preventive treatment can be found.
The MKMRF is a totally voluntary run charity where every single penny raised goes towards promoting a greater awareness into the disease and helping to improve the quality of the life of those who have contracted this terrible disease.

Every penny raised during this walk will be donated to the fund and all of your generosity and support will make a huge difference to those families who innocently fall victim to this devastating disease.

Thank you for your support.
