Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

In January 2006, my wonderful cousin Mattie died after contracting Malaria following a trip to visit her father, Tim, in Uganda. Initially her doctor diagnosed her fever like symptoms as flu and gave her antibiotics for this 'flu'. Within days she was dead.

While no amount of money will ever bring Mattie back it will help to change the lives of the millions of people who suffer from Malaria, in developing countries accross the globe.

In an attempt to do my bit for the cause of the Malaria Consortium, I'm going to spend my first year at Edinburgh University wearing shorts instead of trousers. Pyjamas, sports gear, casual wear - even if I go to a ball or posh restaurant I will wear shorts. However cold it gets I will wear my shorts, however wet it gets I will wear my shorts. In fact, as long as I raise as much money as I possibly can for the Malaria Consortium, I won't mind getting hypothermia...
