Ironman France 2009 · 26 May 2009

Queen Elizabeth’s Foundation for Disabled People (QEF) is a disability charity based in Surrey, with national reach. We have more than 85 years’ experience of developing innovative services which support almost 10,000 disabled people a year to achieve their potential and increase their independence.

Story

I took part in Ironman france, held in Nice on the 28th June 2009.
it consisted of a quick little 2.4 mile swim in the med, jumping out of the sea, removing my wetsuit and hopping on my bike for a leisurely 112 mile bike ride through the mountains (mainly up hill) and then a sprint finish over 26 miles (marathon). I completed the swim in 1 hr 11, the bike in 6hrs 30 and the marathon in 4 hrs 40....12hrs and 36 mins final time, not bad!

I am hoping to raise money for the Queen Elizabeth foundation for the disabled.
